Christmas elves are coming to town

Christmas elves

Christmas is a magical time for everyone, especially children. Boys and girls, younger and older, naughty and nice – they all get excited and wait for the presents. Even the children battling diseases or disabilities, though their holiday spirit may be tainted by treatment and medications.

We at MacPaw want to brighten up the holidays for these kids. That’s why every December we put on our elf hats and start packing presents. MacPaw office turns into Santa’s workshop for a couple of days before all the gifts get sent to the children with mucoviscidosis, cerebral palsy, autism, or cancer.

We have been doing this since 2016. The Christmas Elves project is now a beloved tradition of all macpawians. Every year we receive cards, drawings, and letters where children aged between 2 and 18 express their wishes. And then set out on our quests to find perfect gifts that meet and exceed expectations. Every year we can bring joy to more and more kids. And we are grateful to all of our colleagues who join the project!

We help the kids remember these holidays

In 2023 the full-scale invasion made us change many plans but could not make us break the tradition. The Christmas Elves project was special this year. We were sending our presents, love, and attention to the kids who lost their parents because of the war. Most of them were children of the soldiers who died in battles. Lego sets, Barbie dolls, bikes, toy planes, and an orange plush dog – such normal presents for children in such extreme circumstances. This was very touching for us, and we thank our partner, the Children of Heroes Foundation, for making this possible.

The cards and drawings we receive from the children stay with us and remind us of the joy we shared. You can even find some of them on display when you visit our office. For many of us, New Year and Christmas are among the brightest childhood memories, with all the surprises, dreams, and happy anticipation. So now our dream is to help the kids remember these holidays fondly many years from now, regardless of the situation. And we’ll keep working on making this dream come true!
