Back in 2020, Covid hit the world like a ton of bricks. Nobody was ready for the pandemic, and everyone did their best to help. As a socially responsible company, we decided to act too.
Here are several projects we took on to help battle the crisis:
Groceries for people in need.
Together with the Enjoying Life Foundation, we purchased and distributed 5000 sets of grocery items for the elderly and for single parents raising children with disabilities. Our partners, Uklon taxi service and Nova Poshta delivery company, organized the logistics.
Face shields for the doctors.
When medical masks were scarce and hard to find, a local maker lab Fabricator started producing face shields for the hospitals. They used 3D printers to print the parts, so we decided to put our office 3D printers to good use. We lent them to the lab to increase their manufacturing capacity. We also purchased 1800 EUR worth of printing filament and other materials they needed. This helped the lab to make more than 1000 face shields and deliver them to the doctors.
Ventilators for the hospitals.
The pandemic drastically increased the need for artificial lung ventilation (AVL) machines. For many patients, these machines became the difference between life and death. Even though we faced some difficulties with choosing the supplier, we managed to purchase five AVL machines for five hospitals – 4 in Kyiv and 1 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Protective suits for the medics.
From day one doctors and nurses were at the frontlines of battling the virus. They often spend days in a row working and helping their patients. We provided around 2000 protective suits for three hospitals in different regions of Ukraine.
Care kits for macpawians.
Even amidst the global pandemic, we did not forget about our own. We wanted to protect our team from the illness and brighten up their social-distancing days. So we prepared MacPaw Cares Home Kits with medical masks, disposable gloves, hand sanitizers, lemons, oranges, and some vitamin C dragees, a beloved childhood medicine.
We are glad that the Covid days are finally behind us. New challenges arise, but we remain optimistic. Keeping a cool head and using our strengths to support others is our recipe for facing problems. And it has not let us down
so far!
